Oh, the power of mentoring! While out in Colorado Springs, CO this summer, I was inspired by the terrain and mountainous landscape. I painted 12 paintings to depict the season and terrain I was in during various mentoring/discipling relationships. This project will be honoring significant mentors and disciplers in my creativity and faith journeys. Music, audience participation, and shoes (yes!) will guide the story along. The event will be held at the lovely Holy Family Shrine glass chapel in Gretna, NE with a reception following. Artwork will be for sale. (If weather is bad, makeup date is Saturday, April 6th, at 2pm). Breathe #1: w/ Monica Eby and Eleni Baker
Hello~
You can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water.
~Rabindranath Tagorf- Poet, Playwright, Painter & Musician
For several months, I have been thinking about connecting with other creatives in our community and beyond to see what others are working on, to share resources, and support one another. You are invited to a zoom meeting/call entitled BREATHE on Monday, June 7th from 7-8:15pm… Simply to breathe life into one another’s work, dreams, and to have a discussion about a Psalm regarding prayer, intimacy, and keeping our focus on God and drawing insights from the book The Saints & The Poets by Shun Lee Fong. Additionally, a few women will be sharing their thoughts.
Creative expressions anywhere from Visual Art, Music, Photography, Baking and Culinary Arts, Graphic Design, Crafting, Quilting, Dance, Drama, to Writing etc. are encouraged to participate. If you are more of an observer or supporter, we would love for you to join us as well. I hope to do this on a quarterly basis or more frequently if there is enough interest.
God has given us the gift of creativity/creating because He is the creator. He is creative and He invites us to create with Him. It’s part of His love to us, in us, and through us as we show the world this expression of Him through our worship to Him.
GOAL: Share creativity to support The Arts in our communities and encourage one another to grow deeper in our relationship with God and develop our craft. Acts 17:28 For in him we live and move and have our being.
Step up and step in, no matter what your artistic vision is. Even if you don’t immediately have what you need to finish doesn’t mean that you don’t have what you need to start. So gather what little you’ve got and get out there…
